Welcome to my blog

So, I was uploading some more photos this week (Sept 12th, '06) and thought about all the people who said they want to see my photos from Germany. I'm wondering - did you hope to see pictures of castles, beautiful countryside, historic architecture, perhaps some old German men in leiderhosen doing the polka and drinking beer? Well, most of you know I'm a bit wacky - therefore, many of my photos are wacky too.

In case you don't know it yet, I spent one month in Berlin, Germany on a Study Abroad. I took a photography class. To see photos I took for that class, go to http://andreainberlin2006.blogspot.com/.

While I was in Europe, I also visited Cottbus, Germany, which is where my mother was born, and Prague in the Czech Republic. This photo is at the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin.

Below you will find photos from August 2006. To see the July 2006 photos, scroll down on the right to "Archives" and click on "July."

You can comment on any of my photos by clicking on "comments" on the bottom of each photo. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

My new pets

MuShu will love them. But do you think Bud and Ralphy will approve?

Or perhaps this is my new pet

My new car

A very expensive Audi. (Or so I'm told).

Fun on the last day of school

Me, Teresita (Venezuela), Encarna (Spain), Patrick (Germany), and Harold (Netherlands).
Patrick was in my photography class. Of all the students in the class, I like his work best. To see some of his photographs, visit his blog at http://capitalberlin.blogspot.com/.

Cool Second-Hand Shop in Prenzlauer Berg

Fun with the girls

These are my friends Encarna (from Spain) and Annabelle (from Singapore). We were at a bar in Prenzlauer Berg called Krueger. We had a great discussion about each of our countries. I learned a lot - especially that I would love to spend time in Spain, but not in Singapore, where there is no freedom of speech.

Similarity

Above is a shot Annabelle took of Encarna and Dr. Bruce. (I am sitting across from Dr. Bruce). He is American, but has lived in Berlin for 20 years.

Encarna thinks Dr. Bruce looks like Jim Carrey. So, I pulled up some photos online and I think she's right. We printed these photos and gave them to Dr. Bruce. He didn't know who Jim Carrey was. He thinks he looks like Jack Nicholson. Well, maybe a little.

Adorable couple

This is Christel and Jerry from Miami. Christel is German, but has lived in the United States for many years. She teaches several languages and dances the Bolero. Jerry is a Math professor and trying to master the art of blogging. They are an adorable couple who love photography and Tango. I hope to have a zest for life as they do when I reach their age.
